Notice – Revision of Local Court Rule 2.119 Published for Comment
The 30th Circuit Court wishes to revise their current Local Court Rule 2.119 to more accurately reflect current practices. The proposed language for Local Court Rule 2.119 can be found below. The comment period will be open for 60 days and will expire on November 30, 2017. Please send your comments to Rhonda Swayze, rswayze@ingham.org.
RULE 2.119   MOTION PRACTICE

(A)   An attorney of record shall secure a date for hearing from the trial judge's judicial assistant for matters such as uncontested divorce cases, motions, and hearings.

(B)   General Trial Division motion day shall be Wednesday. If a legal holiday coincides in some manner, the court may set a new motion day.

(C)   A judge's copy of a motion, brief, and written notice of hearing, shall be provided to the judge's office.

(D)   Any matter requiring testimony or hearings of more than 15 minutes shall be scheduled by the trial judge's judicial assistant other than on motion day.
