This program is a cooperative effort between Michigan State University and the court, in which MSU undergraduates are trained in specific early intervention techniques to use with youth and family. Youth are referred to the program, prior to any formal court action.
PROGRAM GOALSPROGRAM ELEMENTS
- To provide each young person with a program of service tailored to their needs to help him or her avoid further involvement with the Juvenile Justice System.
- Volunteer works 6 - 8 hours per week for 18 weeks with youth
- Volunteer meets and works in the youth's home and community
- Program provides services for approximately 135 youth
